Waka Surf was founded over a decade ago by a local surfing legend, affectionately known as “Waka.” Born and raised in Dickwella, Waka was drawn to the waves from a young age and eventually realized his dream of opening a surf school in his hometown. His mission? To share the thrill of surfing with others and help build a strong, local surfing community. As Waka himself says, “If I can teach the next generation of surfers to navigate these waves, and also surf safely wherever their travels may take them, that is enough for me. That is my goal.”
